5 Amazing DIY Lip Scrub Recipes

Winter is here! It is getting colder and all my bulky jackets are out. Today I realized that my lips were drier than usual and that they needed more than a hydrating┬álip balm to look better. And, I decided to whip up some simple lip scrubs. These DIY lip scrubs are super easy and delicious- I can actually use some of these as desserts after my dinner čÖé . These are great for gift purpose as well. In fact, I will be gifting three of these to my friends. You can change these recipes as per your preference by adding the flavors you like- lemon, mint, orange or even pumpkin. Pumpkin lip scrubs will make great fall gifts!

Besides being delectable, these lip scrubs are made from all-natural ingredients. I am sure you know by now that I am a big fan of natural DIY beauty treatments. The ingredients are safe for use on the skin and you don’t┬áhave to worry if you accidentally┬álick your lips. I keep doing that all the time while using these lip scrubs.┬á Doesn’t┬áthat sound great?

DIY Lip Scrubs

Honey Lip Scrub

This lip-smacking scrub is such a teat for the skin!  Made with sugar, honey, and coconut oil, it leaves the lips remarkably smooth and beautiful. Coconut oil is fabulous for moisturizing dry lips and honey acts as a humectant. It draws moisture from the air into the skin and has the ability to retain it. Sugar particles act as great exfoliators that gently slough away dead skin to reveal soft, supple lips. I have added two tablespoons sugar to make this scrub, you can change the quantity a little to get the desired consistency.

DIY Honey Lip Scrub

Two Tablespoons Sugar

One Tablespoon Honey

One Tablespoon Coconut Oil

  1. Take honey and coconut oil in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add two tablespoons sugar and mix again.
  3. Apply to the lips and massage in gentle circular motion to remove dead skin.

Coffee Lip Scrub

My friends hate me when I tell them that I am not a coffee lover. It is hard for them to believe that someone can actually survive without coffee! I may not consume this magical beverage but I like to use it in my DIY beauty treatments. It is full of antioxidants that are great for the skin and the best thing about coffee is that it can be used for all types of skin. You might remember that I had shared a coffee mask recipe a few days back in a post on DIY face masks for dry skin.

Coffee grounds are gentle and fantastic for use on the sensitive skin on lips. This makes them perfect for use in lip scrubs. I have made this lip scrub with two ingredients,- coffee grounds and olive oil. You can also add honey to make a richer recipe.

Love how that sip of warm coffee feels on your lips? Then this DIY coffee lip scrub is meant for you!

Vanilla Lip Scrub

I love this vanilla lip scrub. It is wonderfully fragrant, sweet and perfect for use on chapped lips. Like the other recipes I have shared, this DIY lip scrub is super easy and requires three commonly available ingredients- Sugar, Olive Oil and Vanilla Extract. Olive oil acts as the perfect base for these scrubs and provides ample moisture to dry lips.

Chocolate Lip Scrub

I often use cocoa powder to make an amazing chocolate face mask. It is one of my favorite ways to pamper my skin when it needs some extra love. This Chocolate lip scrub obviously tastes great and you can also change the flavor as per your preference. This is a simple chocolate scrub recipe with cocoa powder, olive oil, and sugar. I have used brown sugar in this lip scrub for a caramel-like flavor, you can use white sugar if you want. Vanilla extract or any other essential oil can also be added to this recipe!
