7 Amazing Home Remedies For Glowing Skin In Summers

Diet: You are what you eat! Diet has an important role to play in influencing the condition of the skin. If we eat the right foods, our skin stays healthy and nourished from within. Fruits and vegetables are the powerhouse of anti-oxidants and protect the skin from damage.

Tomatoes, kiwi, papaya, carrot, spinach, orange, lemon are some of the foods that should be included in the diet.

Try to stay away from sugar-rich and fatty foods as they have no nutritional value and make skin look old and dehydrated.

Hydrate: Water helps in flushing out toxins from the body and gives the skin a healthy glow. While water alone cannot guarantee radiant skin, it is effective in combination with a proper skincare routine. It is important to drink at least 2-3 liters of water per day for healthier body and skin.

Sunscreen: How could we miss it? Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 half an hour before stepping out in the sun and reapply it every 2-3 hours. You should be using a sunscreen throughout the year as it is your best protection from the harmful rays of the sun that cause tanning and several other skin problems. While many of use apply sunscreen on the face, the body remains neglected. Protect your neck, arms, feet, legs from the sun by wearing an effective sun protection formula.

Try to stay away from the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. as sun rays are the strongest between this time.

Cleanse: Summers are very harsh on the skin and the skin tends to get oily in these months. It is important to properly cleanse your face to get rid of sweat, dirt and other impurities. Use a product with deep cleansing action to unclog pores and keep skin clean. Alternatively, you can use two simple kitchen agents that cleanse the skin without drying it out. However, instead of completely switching over to these natural cleansers, you should use them along with market-based deep cleansers to prevent buildup on the skin.

Milk: Milk is a very effective cleanser that can be used to keep skin free of impurities. Soak cotton in raw milk and massage in circular motion to remove all dirt from the face. Wash your face with plain water. If you have been out in the sun for long or have makeup on the face, you can wash your face with a cleanser before using milk.

Honey: Honey is another agent that cleanses and nourishes the skin. Remove makeup and apply honey on the face for 10 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water.

You can also add 1 tablespoon lemon juice for better results. However, lemon juice should not be used daily as it is little harsh on the skin.

Toner: A toner should be used after cleansing to remove all traces of impurities from the skin. It helps in rejuvenating dull and lifeless summer skin.

Use a toner that suits your skin type or you can use Rose Water on the skin for its beauty benefits.

Moisturize: Skin tends to get oilier in summers and one of the ways to prevent it is by maintaining skin hydration. Sebum production is limited if the skin is well moisturized and hydrated.

You should opt for light or oil-free moisturizers in summers for soft and glowing skin.
